    Non VSP provider questions.

    What do you do if you have patients called and asked about it and what to say to them which still make them make an appointment with you?.

    I hear that patients can file out of network, but how do they reimburse the patients? Any else I should know and what to tell them?

    thanks

    It is easy to make lemonade out of lemons with this situation as VSP enables members to print out of network reimbursement forms from their website. With the patients written authorization you can print this out and complete it for the patients direct reimbursement. This alternative is often construed that you are indeed making an effort to help the patient rather than just informing them you don't take VSP. This will result in a mutual benefit as you and the patient aren't limited to all the parameters of VSP. I believe their out of
    network reimbursement for a typical progressive package is somewhere around $95. :cheers:

    Fnally, try to keep patients from calling VSP from your office. Without respect for members desired intentions, VSP telephone representatives will twist the members arms with the fear of God to make them purchase eyewear from a VSP provider.

    [QUOTE=Gary

    If you spent as much time figuring out what will make you unique as you will spend in pure aggravation figuring out someone else's fee schedule , then you would be a smart person.[/QUOTE]

    Hmm.....:finger:
    how long do you think it takes to figure out a fee schedule? My six year old daughter can do that while jumping rope. But then, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree cause her old man graduated magnum cum laude.

    BTW what makes me unique is that I make it a point of NOT exhibiting "pure aggravation" when someone has an insurance that can be legitimately utilized in purchasing my quality eyewear. That is why we embrace the slogan......"Going the extra mile to help people SEE a difference" instead of "A place to buy eyewear with a Unique selling proposition."

    Now that we cleared that up I hope you don't think I'm a SMART PERSON ...................because smart people are not always practical. WISDOM is a much greater asset as it is a culmination of what a person has learned along with an ability to apply what they have learned. After all this is why our own Chris Ryser offers his "Wisdom to start the day" right here on Optiboard.
