I am a bit concerned. Lets see.. it has already been found in a bird in England, and is popping up in Europe.. won't be long till it is over here.

I just keep thinking back to when I was helping my parents do geneology. We found that about a third of our family died during the last pandemic. Reading the stories of the families, and looking at the old family Bibles.. The number of parents who buried children, etc..it scares me.

This particular strain is very virulent, and so far we don't have any real defense for it. While I certainly believe in God, It doesn't remove the fear of my loved ones dying. Call me human. I want them to stay with me.

I for one plan on taking precautions.

Well I still have reason to fear death (yes, I believe in God). I have the fear of temporary losing my friends and family. I also have a fear of leaving them with obligations.

wouldnt be so bad if the lisencing for the drugs that could treat it were relaxed. It does seem like the one firm that can make a half effective vacine / treatment is prepared to relax the patent, but in the face of a worldwide pandemic, thats a little to lttle, a lot too late

Back in the good old days when drug licensing was considerably more relaxed, some people took an innocuous sleeping pill called Thalidomide. It was taken as a sleep aid, and "morning sickness" preventative.I'm not sure our younger members will know about this. If you don't, Google it and see what happened.

Sorry - what i wasnt clear about is> that the current manufacturer, wont let other manufacturers make the product, even on licence, thats an entirely different thing if the product is licenced to be used on patients

There was a guy on our local raido station(sorry didnt catch the name) who has written books on "natural" cures/treatments. He was saying that the employees at a cinnimon grinding plant in NY did not get the flu in 1918. They or any one they live with. So have plenty of cider with cinnimon this winter. BTW I'm not worried.

People in the horseraddish plant in Colorado have never been sick with anything. Similar claims are made for workers in Scotland that make Scotch whiskey and drink a grattis glass a day. The Dept. of Agriculture says that tobasco sauce diluted as much as 2800/1 will kill anything that is wrong with a raw oyster.

Just think of the medical potential for those that eat horseraddish, garlic, with Tobasco sause chased with Scotch flavored with cinnamon.
