"The Eye Patch Kids" DVD

Hello everyone,

I just found this website and I think it is great. I have a five year old son with amblyopia and it was impossible to patch him. I made a DVD called "The Eye Patch Kids" for him to help encourage patching and it helped him so much. I have also been receiving e-mails from parents everywhere telling me how much this has helped their kids and how they can relate to the patched puppets singing and dancing. I am on a personal crusade to make patching more socially acceptable for children through education. If they are not being starred at they will feel more comfortable to wear their patch. I just wanted to say that I think what you're doing is great. Maybe you could include a little eye patch with the DVD that kids can decorate themselves.

Thank you for such a nice e-mail. I am so glad to be able to help the kids out with this. It was so nice after I first made this to see my son wearing his eye patch and dancing with the puppets after so much fighting we had gone through with him. Then after more research and reading all the stories with the frustrated parents pulling their hair out trying to patch their child and scared that they could lose their sight if they weren't successful I knew I had to help them also. There is no other feeling like it in the world everytime I get an e-mail back from a parent telling me how I made this so much easier for them and their kids. Take Care.

Kelly, how many hours per day is your kid wearing an eye patch?

Well, in my quest to get the kids to wear their eye patches I opened an online store with t-shirts and accessories of the puppets from my DVD "The Eye Patch Kids" and it has been a real success. Now when the kids are walking around with their eye patches on they are wearing t-shirts with the puppets with eye patches on also. Anything to get these kids patching.
