Any British Opticians in Canada?

I was in contact with the Opticians Board of British Columbia and was pleasantly surprised to hear that some UK qualifications are recognised.

Anybody out there moved from UK to Canada to work/practice? Its something I'm wanting to do if poss.

I came to Canada some years ago with multiple qualifactions from europe, including some British ones. The local optical associations would not let me work in the retail without re-doing the complete optical learning process, which would have meant another 3 years of courses and then wait another 2 years to become Canadian first before getting the license. This was in the Province of Quebec.

In BC as you say, they might have some special regulations. BC was not regulated for many years. Anyhow I would suggest you check it out carefully.
