I'm not voting, but I have some observations to offer:

It is already possible to search and sort the OptiBoard Members List by "post count", so any of us can determine which members have made the most posts, counting back to their first post, regardless of when they joined and how long they have been at it.

It is already possible to search and sort the OptiBoard Members List by "post count" and "join date", so any of us can determine which members have made the most posts, excluding the "old timers" who have been at it for more than a year (for example).

It is not currently possible for any of us ordinary members to search or sort the Members List by "average number of posts per day", although that figure is computed and displayed whenever we access a member's user profile by clicking on their user name.

Maybe it would be a useful software modification!

The OptiBoard software could automatically notify us by PM or E-mail whenever we exceed a certain number of average posts per day, as a reminder that we might benefit from professional counseling of some kind.

    Remember its just an average.........

Some days you make 10 posts some days you make none. I think we all need help.....once in a while. (I'm remembering the " London" post I made a couple of weeks back which is a good indication of how sick one can get) :bbg: Fact of the matter is that the more you post, the more you contribute. Our active members are participating which is helping Optiboard to grow and remain current. The high degree of participation and its quality is what sets sets us apart.

and the winner in this group is.....

    Mikef 1.971830986 posts per day
    Ksquared 1.585365854 posts per day
    Jedi 1.58490566 posts per day
    Rinselberg 1.307506053 posts per day
    Hcjilson 0.519118057 posts per day

Hcjilson was able to get the help he so
perilously needed early on in his rather lengthy career. So in spite of his recent outburst (10 post on a single thread in a single day), he remains at the bottom of the "desperately seeking succour" catagory at this point in time.

    And just think.....

a few short years back, one of the above group told me he/she was on Optiboard a lot, but had a certain "fear of posting"..guess where he is on the list?? Its also nice to see Ron back, taking an active part.....as well as ksquared who holds up her end by providing us with the Word of the Day. With she and my pard Jo watching my back, I've nothing to fear! :bbg:

I don't know about "posts" per day ... but I do check it quite often when I'm not at work

I just wish that more people would jump in and contribute ... I see so many people logged in when I visit but few post ...

As Harry said ... "Fact of the matter is that the more you post, the more you contribute. Our active members are participating which is helping Optiboard to grow and remain current. The high degree of participation and its quality is what sets sets us apart."

so, PLEEZE join in the fun ... we nibble but we don't bite ;)

PS to ksquared- where did you get your numbers? The official stats give me 1.87.

(another trick I learned from my Pard back when we were competing for top poster, was to make a post on top of a post.

I go through spurts as well... Sometimes, I'm literally unable to visit OptiBoard for a couple weeks at a time. Others (like now), I pop in every couple hours to take a "mental break" from computer work.

If I log on to the internet, its usually one of the first things I check-
    Foxnews.com
    Optiboard.com
    X-typeforum.com

That's pretty much my on-line life (oh and "previewing before purchase" of music at bearshare.com).:bbg:
