    Recent Florida licensees

    Hello,

I'm looking for info (content matter) for current L.O. boards in state of FL.

I've got all the other particulars as far as dates, prerequisites, fees and such. I'd simply like to know where and what to focus my efforts as I get back to hittin' the books.

Are statutes,CL slides,CL practical something I should expect?

Any additional input would be greatly appreciated. I'll be glad to reciprocate for those interested in coming to CT. The waters fine here and the pay is at the top of range for U.S.

    Much kind thanks,

    (Polk Co.Native)

If you mean you are sitting for the State Board Exam, there are different sections questions, a practical, where you have to bring two pair of glasses that they will mangle, and it'll be up to you to adjust them to fit an assigned 'model', lens identification, where you are given 10 or 20 lenses that you will asked to identify it's material and seg style/type, and lens neutralization, where you'll be asked to give tons of measurements on three sets of eyewear.

The biggest piece of advice I can give for anyone taking the board, is take the Board Review, usually given at the test site the day before. It's given by two professors who have done the review for over 20 years, and can tell you exactly how you will be graded, and what the board is looking for. There were sales people who had no clue about vertex distance compensationor slab off, and in the review course, he prepped them well enough to pass the exam. It's the best $150 (I think) you can spend.
