    Help with 35mm Bridge

I have a customer who has a huge shnoze. Anyways, two years ago we were able to take two frames and create a 35mm bridge. Now he is looking for a new pair.

Now the person who did the solder for us is now not living here, and I, nor my associates do not feel comfortable with doing it again.

I was wonder if you knew of a frame with the specification or if someone could do something similar.

    Thank you

What about a wide saddlebridge "rebent" to accommadate the additional width of the nose.

Fro-Life, Your local jeweller will easily be able to do a nice soldering job without problem if it is a metal frame.

If it is a plastic frame get a nose/bridge stretcher and pull it to the wanted size.............

My collegue misinformed me. It is a 26-28mm bridge, not 35mm. Could a moderator please change the title.

Chris, I will look into that.

Edit - Chris, we actually talked to a jeweler and he was not excited about it.

The customer also want the bridge higher, so what I am thinking of is using a double bridge, cutting out the lower bridge, then taking screw mounted nose pads and customizing them into the lens.

Does anyone see a problem with that.

One really should learn basic skills like soldering in this business. Too bad all our courses are on stuff like styles, colors, the latest aspheric or progressive aspheric bifocals that we don't have the math to comprehend anyway.

Not sarcasm just a statement on the things we consider important in our "education as opticians" today. Things were better when we were Opticians instead of salespeople.

Chip, when I was a kid I was one of the worst drawers. Even so, my hand steadiness sucks. I am just not confident in my hand skills. Plus, in a couple of years I will have my Masters and I will be leaving the retail side.

When it comes down to it you are correct, but I am just not willing to take the chance.
