Yes, Happy Canada day. I am here in Canada now, visiting family and friends....There are so many flags out today!! More so than what the US puts out on the 4th of July (it seems)! oooooooooooo can-knee-da...
Happy Canada Day!!!! Gonna hit the links today Harry! I will try to keep them in the short grass.....
I recently traveled to Vancouver- which is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever visited. During one of the evening meals, we had sponsored a string quartet, who were just wonderful and was taking classical requests.
Towards the end of the evening, I asked if they could perform "O Canada." The lead gentleman said they didn't receive many requests for the national anthem, but- of course- they did know it and would be happy to oblige. They started up, and- much to the credit of a bunch of dining Americans (who are usually oblivious to even our own anthem)- everyone stood within a few seconds. At the end, there was a long round of applause...
Anyway, I've long admired your national anthem, and- after my recent visit- the tremendous people "up north!"
PS- My passport was in transit for my move at the time of my visit, and I'd like to extend a special Canada Day greeting to the beautiful young lady who allowed me into the country with just a driver's license!

I did very well on most of it, but pre-confederation hurt me.
Also, Pete, you should only need your drivers licence. We will not need passports for Americans to come to Canada or vice-versa until January 2007.
