If it's OK with Steve, I would recommend checking out Craig's List: http://www.craigslist.org/ or http://www.craigslist.com/hea/ . I believe it's $75 per ad per month. In SF you'll get a lot of replies; most won't be qualified, but you're likely to get 5 to 10 with experience.

thanks! we actually used Craig's list as well, and recieved a good response, we were looking for an ecperienced optician and felt this was a good place to start!
