    Shark attacks

How creepy are the aerial shots of feeding sharks close to popular beaches??? This is something I think I could have lived happily without knowing. I was stunned by the interview with the surfer dude who tried to rescue that young girl off Destin, he was so matter of fact about the whole thing, including his own brave actions.

I know there are beaches that have shark nets--Acapulco is one I recall--is there a reason these aren't more common?

I vote we put sharks on the highly endangered species list. They're good eatin.

When I used to wade fish - off the shores of Galveston Island, it was not that unusual for a small sand shark to hit your stringer. You learned real quick to use a very long stringer line with a float to keep it fall from you. Pulled in a few times with just heads left on some of the fish. After awhile, I just quit fishing that way. Spent all my time worrying about stringrays (walking on one) or a shark that wasn't quite as small as normal.

I've had shark fin soup. Nothing special as I recall. From what I have heard, sharks don't think humans are "good eatin", usually attack thinking they are something yummy like seals, so I guess we have that going for us!

Half the scallops you eat are Shark Meat. You'll never know fried. I know this is miss-labeling but common practice even in the better resturants.
