Gerber Coburn Strengthens Relationship with Essilor Instruments
Two Companies Sign Three-Year Distribution Agreement

SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. – Gerber Coburn and Essilor Instruments, a division of Essilor International, Paris, announces the continuation of their unique partnership by executing another three-year distribution agreement.

Under the terms of the agreement, Gerber Coburn will continue to distribute Essilor-manufactured lens finishing products exclusively in North America and Australia and market-specific products worldwide. Gerber Coburn will also continue to work closely with Essilor Instruments to develop and manufacture the industry’s most advanced ophthalmic lens finishing systems.

“Our new agreement with Essilor Instruments is a continuation of the successful partnership we’ve enjoyed for the last nine years,” noted Clement Patry, president, Gerber Coburn. “That partnership began with the identification of a specific industry need and blossomed into a genuine strategic alliance. Over the years, we’ve identified the need for increasing the breadth of our product offerings as well as expanding the scope of our distribution agreement. These steps have enabled us to bring the right products to not only markets in the US but markets worldwide.”

“Gerber Coburn’s strengths lie in innovation and our New Product Development process,” he continued, “which relies on incorporating the Voice of the Customer into each new product. We collect information necessary to pinpoint the best market opportunities for growth and process innovation. Then we translate our findings into technical specifications that ultimately become the new equipment’s features or functions. With that process, we’re able to fulfill an exacting need within the marketplace. Our marketing, engineering, and servicing capabilities complement Essilor’s research, development, and manufacturing expertise. We have been able to combine our mutual strengths for developing and delivering products via the most efficient and economical channels.”

“We’re very excited about building our relationship with Gerber Coburn,” stated James Thepot, COO Essilor Instruments. “Gerber Coburn has not only excelled in identifying market requirements in our various audiences worldwide, but they have done an outstanding job in marketing, selling, and supporting our equipment. We look forward to the collaboration efforts that will enable us to bring advanced technologies to our diverse markets for years to come.”
