    Own luxury collection.............

For-Life,............. I love your luxury outfit in Glasses.

Are you one of those opticians who get as many free samples from the sale rep as possible for publicity reasons?

Please dont get offended by my question. For the 20 years i had my frame company I used to give away loads of frame to opticians for personal use and publicity, but many of them never used them but sold them and made a good little profit. :D

Of course, and I am not offended.

We are in a mall setting, so I must look up to date and try to get something new every 6 months. I think it is important to show off the different styles that you can get. I find it funny when frame companies give a measely 10 percent off. I think they should give away free frames and lens companies give out the best in free lenses. However, make sure that the optician is wearing them and make sure that they also have the frame on their boards so that they can sell it.

I also have my friends and family wearing the best so that they can pass around my fashion.

My two best selling frames are the ones I alternate between. I'll bet the vendors don't mind the comps, given the thirty or so of each frame that I've sold for them in the past year. And what better lens endorsement than "I wear a blah blah with blah blah AR, and I can wear anything I want". Kep the comps coming. And I would never over-use anyone or take advantage of their generosity.

Additionally, I have concerns about selling PALs that I haven't worn.

    Currently I alternate between a
Theo Eyewitness LD (won best men's design at the last Silmo) in purple, with Hoya Phoenix w/ Super Hivision. The coating is okay, I prefer D'alize or Advantage, but the lenses are awesome. The frame mounting is a beta ti metal groove and it really shows off the strength of the lens when I twist them. The second pair I wear is a Face a Face Twins3 grey/burgundy with Zeiss 1.67 w/ Carat Advantage, love the coating. This frame has 2 frame fronts woven together, a great model for people who want to be "funky" (I hate that word) but not too crazy.

    Comps

    Nothing wrong with getting freebies/discounts.
When a new lens product comes out suitable for my needs I will get a voucher for it and try it. One of the best ways to sell something is based on personal knowledge and experienc.
I have never glommed a free frame from a rep. I have always done it by getting a personal discount. Only free frame I got was from an in store drawing by the local Logo Paris rep almost 20 years ago

    Multiple pairs

In a retail situation particularly a high end shop, I would give employees 1 pair of glasses per year and allow them to purchase as many as they would like for personal use only at invoice cost of frame and lenses. Lenses must be what you want to sell...no exec bifocals or blended segments...all lenses AR coated etc etc

It seem like I am the most boring here. I wear OP Side Winder in Gunmetal with crown glass lenses. I hate buying glasses.

You know how many stores do not give their employees any discount at all and make their employees buy the glasses?

I have five employees of other stores in town wearing my frames and lenses, because they are mad that they do not get freebies. Considering that there is less than 15 dispenseries I think that says a lot.

So you hit the nail on the head.

I thought the same thing .... LOL

I am wearing versace 3030 (black/white zyl with rhinestones ... I wanted some "bling bling" this time ;) ) 1.67 progressive (a/r is a must with my -4.50 cyl)

For my sunglasses, I got a nice little Miu Miu (zyl) kind of a tortoise color of frame ... put in grey polarized with gold mirrors (can't stand looking thru brown polarized, myself).

I usually wear contact lenses full time, but on those rare occasions when I can't get my act together in the morning....OP Poise and Nikon 4 with ICE.

(Hmmm, I got those more than a year ago. I should start looking for a new pair ;) Thanks for the reminder guys!)

    Keep the current ones, add:

    - Gant Waverly - Red/Silver (have gotten more compliments on that one than any other pair I have ever worn). 1.67 D Alize.

    - Humphrey's 2598, black and white. 1.67 Anti-Fatigue D Alize

I also have a Tommy Hilfiger rimless sun. I forget which model, with the very light gold mirror. I call them my hot tub sunglasses. I then have another four point Humphrey sun that is my movie star sunglass, both non-RX that I wear with contacts.

    New additions:
Chrome Hearts Dollz in Black and Lime green, Prodesign 1632 in Crystal, Ic! Berlin Prentis in copper and a Face A Face Signs 5 on order in white. I have the Anti-Fatigue lens in the Chrome Hearts, can't say that I feel any benefit.

I'm still wearing my old oval GF specs which I found in the junk market over 40 years ago. I can't tell you how many times I've been offered big money to part with it. I believe they are about 70 years old... if anyone has any info and can date them I would love to hear.

The present pair of lenses are Gradal Top with Carat Gold AR

They are wafer thin, and wafer light........ I still love them.

I am wearing my glow in the dark Spongebob Squarepants "Splash" frames with 1.67 hi-index lenses and Vivix arc. They are blue. I love how they glow! That way I can actually find them in the middle of the night when I have get up to pee.

Clive - Toki has the GMS 171u that is almost identical to your frame. If you get alot of offers, you might want to check them out at one of the conventions.

I am lucky, I don't need glasses but I love wearing them. We get a free pair each year from the Dr. and my last company had sales contests each month for frames - which I always won ;) .

I wear my Starck P0113 in M. plat the most
Second is my Birka aluminum semi rimless - in m. brown
Cartier Classic rimless with custom shape - plat.
Gold and Wood custom rimless in plat with cm13
Mikli AO415 in 08 (purple and khaki) titanium semi rimless

Lens materials are trivex, poly and 1.60 with super-hi and alize.
