    Advice

My OD wants me to consider contacts--I am like many myopes of a certain age (ok over 50) am able to read without any correction, but need my glasses (from memory minus 3.75 and minus 1.25) for distance. The problem is when on the computer, neither wearing my glasses or not wearing them helps. I discussed this with my doctor and he suggests I am a good candidate for contacts--one distance and one near I believe, and then if I need them, glasses that would be for intermediate distance. (I believe I am representing what he said, I had just gotten back from the far East and was not quite with it when I saw him). Anyway, does this make sense and is it a good idea?

Not nearly as good an Idea as bifocal contacts, many focus at near, intermeadate and distance. Also one distance contact O.D. and nothing in the left eye would allow the left eye to focus at computer with this RX.

Also note that patients that don't want contacts are anything but good candidates for same.

It's not that I don't want contacts, just never thought about this option before. Actually I believe he may have been talking about only one contact (for distance) and nothing in the other eye but he seemed to think I might still want the glasses for the computer. I will look into both options, thanks.
