Optical Organizations

I would like to know what Optical organizations I should be affiliated with to help support my profession?

First, your state association. I'm pretty sure there is one in CA, but check with OAA. Which leads me to my second...OAA (www.oaa.org). The Opticians Association of America is the national trade association for Opticians. Their interests are legislation and education. Next would be the NAO, the National Academy of Opticianry (www.nao.org). This is the educational voice for Opticianry in the US. All three of these organizations need the support of Opticians in this country to be effective. Peruse their websites and ask for information.
