Optical things I am thankful for...

1.) wood PD sticks. You know, they just feel right. Sturdy. And they look good, too.

Frame alighner, Screw holding screwdrivers, one-size fits all nut drivers.

Some of my dumber compeditors (it's nice to feel superior to someone sometime even if they make more money).
Some of my smarter colleges who will share (well, we can't be superior to everybody).

Catalogues that tell me what part fits what.
loctite. fishing line chord mounts. Female factory reps with good legs.

Manufacturers that don't attempt to re-invent things like hinges, screws, nosepads, and other methods/sizes of attachment.

Keratometers, lensometers, etc. Earlier methods were a real pain.

Eyeglasses, so that I can make more eyeglasses !! Also like the wood PD sticks.

I am thankful for Marchon lock screws. They seem to fit most eyewires and they are FREE too!

Being able to order a clip for any frame when needed, thank you E Clips!

I am thankful for my rabbi Jake Zabecki, who taught me to measure twice......A great optician and a great teacher....who passed away before the introduction of the corneal reflection pupilometer. I still check it twice!

I used to be thankful for my dog-leg screwdriver which fitted snugly in the palm of my hand, until some git stole it.

I'm thankful that the optical text HAVE NOT included a photo of a lens strecher or a left-handed screwdriver. How I love to watch a newbe!:)

From the time I was in second grade and put on my very first pair of glasses (when the "world" opened up for me) ... I have to say : I love glasses and the ability to see clearly !!

I love working with the little kids, too and being there when they have that first "wow" moment ... ;)

(anyone in pediatric eyecare need an optician?)
