Can you please fix the title. It is K-Mart, not Walmart.

Thanks...........I made the correction.........this make the story more interesting as there should be no replacement of stores, but new ones, which means even more Lux competition.

I am still wondering if they will close down the Sears store in my area. It is poorly run and I do not think they do well, but it is the only Lux store in my region.

Only the hand frames. The power frames don't come with the same warranty, you know. :bbg:

Don't laugh. It will be displayed right next to the RayBan Ophthalmic.

Craftsman would be a good brand name for safety eyewear - plano and Rx.

From what I have gathered the K-Mart that was supposed to be turned into what they call a K-Grand ( I believe ) here in Western N.Y. was put on hold till
Oct of this year. Also heard they had hired two Opticians to run it and now they don't know what to do with them because as I was told Sears is only given a lotted amount of time per week and must stay with in that frame work, so most
of the Sears stores are all over there time, does not make for happy Terr. managers. Just my 2 cents

This isn't Luxottica nee' LensCrafters first foray into K-Mart. It failed miserably in the early '90's.

And so it did fail but now I think the thinking is that they have one HUGH company and with that HUGH company things may pan out differently. I m not saying it will but I believe that is there thinking. I have also heard many people at Sears are very antsy about this foray with LC considering that LC also holds there people to company times. What I was told is if you come in one week you may get 40 hours of work, you may come in the next week and have them tell you sorry we only need you for 32 hours and there is nothing you can do. The distrubing thing I heard was instead of letting people go at Sears especially at the smaller (400,000.00 and under) they will let managers go who just happen to be making a little more then the regulars and then elevate the regulars but no pay increase, there by saving them selves a lot of cash. Scary thought! Just my 2 cents:hammer:

Blue LED lights embedded into the temples, that go off when in close proximity to daily specials.
