    Patternless edger question

Can Any Of You Guys Tell Me Who Has The Best Patternless Edgers And, The Best Tech Support??? Our Lab Recently Bought Edgers From Two Different Manufacturers And One Manufacturer Is Extremely Difficult To Deal With. I Was Wondering If Anyone Else Was Having Problems. I Really Didn't Want To Say Who The Difficult One Was.

    Thanks,
    Dlgw

    Confused "Best edgers"

In response to who has the best edgers:
I have worked with many over the years, beginning in retail, then to wholesale management, and now as an owner. My OPINION is that Santinelli has some of the best equipment, but historically a lack of service. I spoke with Gerard Santunelli about 2 years ago, and he said they were trying to change their image. AIT has pretty good equipment, and will train you in their facility, and has good service afterward. Optronics has good equipment (best edger for Trivex, I think) and has had good service; however, they were just purchased by a well- know French lens manufacturer, so.... who knows what will happen next. How much work per day are you planning on running? Don't spend more than you need to. Some edgers are slow, but good, and in a retail invironment are better money spent.

    Re: Edgers

Two Gerber Edgers available, 1 Triumph, well maintained, moderate usage. 1 Spartan, like new, low hours.

We are replacing them with Santinelli ME-1000 Drilling edgers. Santinelli has been awesome with support and development the past year for us. If you are looking to do custom shapes and 8 base drill mounts there is nothing that comes close in the industry today in my humble opinion.;)
