    Multiple slit survival goggles

I am trying to get hold of some multiple slit survival goggle (New York Eye Protection Co, Government surplus). They were developed for polar exploration to protect against snow blindness. They were described as a soft rubber goggle with a rubber headband and black-painted metallic "lenses" (from David Abercrombie, New York City). Vision was allowed through a thin vertical, a horizontal, and a radial slit for each eye. Apparently they were sold in the US during the 1950's.Does anyone know anything at all about these?

Only that the origional version was made of bark and pictured in a booklet on artic survival as "Eskimo Snow Blindness Glasses" in a booklet my uncle gave me in about 1949.

You could accomplish the same thing by buying a pair of swimming goggles and cutting a pair of black plexiglass lenses and slotting them with a dremel cut-off blade.

Origionals may be harder to come by.
