    Tinting problem

I recently tinted a pair of CR39. I followed the procedures and Somehow, one len is lighter than the other. Both lens are from the same manufacture. If you know any links where I can find more information about tinting, please advise.

    Thank you

    Newvue,

What is the manufacturer? What is the material? What are the powers? Also, even though the manufacturer is the same, are the lenses the same age. Shelf life makes a difference.

Has nothing to do with manufacturer they all seem to do it once in a while.. The lens that does not tiont as good is bot fully cured by whoever made them. Sometimes manufacturers run short of some lenses and take them out of the mold to early.

Can be corrected by placing lens in a laboratory oven for an hour or two at 110C. It will then tint perfectly.

Sola Optical had a great "Tinting Tips" and "Color Matching Guide" years ago, if it's not still available from them perhaps a wholesale lab may have a copy to lend you.
(I have this happen quite often, and usually just end up neutralizing the darker of the two lenses)
    Good luck!
