Have you ever heard of this?

Ok, this is a new one for me and I'm not sure if this is even possible. I've asked a couple labs and still haven't come up with a solid answer. Ok, a patient of mine has a cross bow and he brought me this tiny tiny piece in to show me. It is about the size of the eraser on top of a #2 pencile. OK, he wants to know if we can put a lens with his rx into this small piece.(looks like a small eyepiece that fits into the scope). Ok, now the lens is 3/16 of an inch big. I guess he wants to do this so that he doesn't have to wear his glasses. I don't know. It seems very unlikely that this can be done, but was wondering if anyone else has come across this similar request or not or any of the lab gurus have actually done or seen this done. I just don't really have an answer for him right now.

I have made sights for bow hunters in the past but not that small. check the dia. on a RGP slide guage and order it from your RGP lab. Does the "holder" open some how? Keep us updated, and good luck!!

From an optical perspective, what is this guy's Rx?

Does he have a lot of astigmatism? If he holds that bow at any angle whatsoever, the Rx will be off-axis.

If his Rx is high, you'd have to calculate vertex, and he'd have to hold it at the exact same distance every time!

It doesn't sound likely, to me.

Speaking of Rgp's, how 'bout he puts one on his eye instead of his crossbow?

I know, the whole thing is actually really "out there" to me, but I thought I'd ask. You know, the contact sounds a bit more reasonable to me. Anyhow, the rx is -.75 -1.25 x 180. Like I said, I think he's reaching for something that's not there.
