Well this is a great opportunity for progress in the mid-east. Tony Blair is apparently loaded for bear, going to lobby Bush to take the lead in getting peace talks back on track. Let's hope Bush is up to the task.

Now if Ian Paisley would drop dead it would be a really good week!

Yup....... talk in the street is very optimistic....... we'll all just have to wait and see
Now there's a name I haven't heard for a while!!! Is he still alive, or just too mean to die?Originally Posted by EyeManFla

Good idea except I don't really have a good sense of terrorist etiquette. Knowing your presence could attract unpleasantness (missiles etc), do you forego the service and send a tasteful arrangement??? Miss Manners????;)Originally Posted by chip anderson

No, just saying that he passed away. As adults we should know better.
For Life:
My wife criticized me for applauding the fact that Arafat was dying.
I replied: "God my destroy any and all of my enemies anyway and any time he wants to."

Ok he passed away................without being able to enjoy the billions of dollars he stashed away in Swiss banks, which were probably coming from US and Arab official sources to help his people.
May they give him a second Nobel PEACE price post mortem !

I don't want to "bug" For-Life, because I understand that point of view, but I cannot resist offering what would have been a more fitting burial service for Yassar Arafat: A "Viking" funeral. Lay him out on the Karine-A surrounded by the fifty tons of munitions that were found on it, and then tow the boat out to sea (about 100 miles, I should think, for safety) and "light it up"! The "Karine-A", you ask --? Well, click on the URL at the very top of this post, if you have not already!

How about "The Butcher of Palestine"
If Bush wants to address this problem, and show some real statesmanship, he should tap Clinton as his envoy for this. Clinton has the cred and stature, it would neutralize him as a political force for rallying the democrats, and it would show some serious bi-partisanship. George Mitchell another natural.Originally Posted by 1968

Rather that neutralize Clinton as a political force, I think it would do just the opposite. The Republicans wouldn't go for it because the Democrats would declare that Bush can't get anything done without going to their guy. Unfortunately, politics always gets in the way of getting something done.Originally Posted by chm2023
