    Confused sponser apprenticeships

    How many apprenticeships may a sponsor (a licensed optician) provide training for?? I've been looking in laws and rules and just can't seem to find the answer. Can anyone help me? Thanks, Grace Angel

    It depends on where you are.In MA an optician may sponsor 2 apprentices. The rules and regs of each state should specify this.

    I am currently an opticianry student in Florida. Florida law requires that no sponsor ( Licensed Optician) may have more than two apprentices at a time.

    Two apprentices per optician is pretty standard throughout the states I am aware of.

    In Kentucky, a licensed ophthalmic dispenser can sponsor up to two apprentices.

    In Kentucky, a licensed ophthalmic dispenser can sponsor up to apprentices as long as they work in the same establishment with the licensed dispenser.
