Wavefront technology

I have been hearing rumors of some new wavefront technology coming out for eyeglasses, has anyone heard about this? how does it work, who sells it, when will it be out, how will it affect our business if at all, do you need special equip.?

thanks drk, it was very informative... however has anyone heard of eyeglasses actually being made with this new technique, i wonder if vertex will be a new measurement we will need to start making... will these lenses be made with the new freeform technique that is coming for progressives... I use pech optical and they seem to be having alot of trouble getting their new shamir autograph off the ground due to technical problems.. not sure what it is though but we have been waiting for about 6 months now...

Yes I believe it probably will be coming. Zeiss Individual and the Short i require vertex distance as does Rodenstock Multigressive at present.
