2 of the most common screws you wil;l use on glasses are a 3 barrel and a 5 barrel nylok. Hilco also makes about 10 different size self tapping nylok type screws that are very handy, they are long and you snap off the excess and then peen it over. you would also want some various nose pad screws, along with some rimless mounting type screws and nuts and washers. The other thing to do is if you have a couple of vendors that you buy a lot of frames from, ask them to supply extra screws. Its always nice when you can put in a matching screw for your customer. Most frame companies will happily oblige unless of course its Calvin Klien, and then your going to pay for them.

I've abandoned most screws for tap and snaps.
    Here's why . . .
When you notice that there is a disproportionate number of patients bringing in eyewear "screwloose" and you've used nyloks, lock tight, and a flaring tool, you might consider the virtues of retapping the barrels with a "tap and snap" screw. Statistically, it bears out that even though the screws cost more, the time wasted on freebees is far greater. Hilco makes them. Stormin Normin in Florida and O.W.L.S. has them.
Get 2 diamters and two head sizedes and your set for a long time. There's also one available for spring loaded hinges by nature of it having a pin point to center itself. That screw also is a great eyewire screw when all else fails.

Hilco 25-407. It is a universal eyewire screw. It is not self tapping nor does it have thread lock. It is just an plain old screw, but it fits just about anything.

Hilco's self-aligning temple screws. No more fighting with spring hinges.

The glass screw with a hex nut. It'll fix almost anything...uh..except those darned little nosepads they've got now..but with a tap..and a hammer...and hold your mouth the right way...
Hey, those new self-tapping things work pretty good, don't they?
