I have been wearing daily wear contacts for years, but I recently became interested in switching to disposable lenses even though my old conventional lenses (yearly replacement) were very comfortable. I have a pair of trial lenses now. Even before leaving the office, the new lenses did not feel great, but the doctor said that I needed time to adjust to the new lenses. These lenses have a different base curve and different diameter than my old lenses. Could this be part of the problem? I don't understand why he wouldn't put me in a lens with the same base curve and diameter that was working so well for me. He said that the lenses should feel great because they are new, but they don't feel good. Is it true that new disposable lenses would require a "break in" time to adapt to them? It would seem to me that lenses should feel good from the beginning. Thanks for your help.
