    Polarised Varifocals (or lack thereof)

    Hi -

Can anyone help me please. Last year I dispensing loads of polarised Panamics very successfully (and why not? - great progressive design coupled with great sunglass), but the bright sparks at Essilor decided to discontinue this great lens. When? April!!! Just when everyone's getting ready for the sunglass season - good move Essilor!

It appears that the big boys (Zeiss, Rodenstock, etc) also don't have a polarised varifocal, so does anyone know of any manufacturer that does?

Apparently Rodenstock distribute varifocals made by Polaroid but I have no experience of them other than they make cheap sunglasses and have no idea whether the lens quality is any good. Are they? Is it?

    Thanks for any input.

Funny. Panamic Polarized is still available here. What about Ovation and Comfort Polar?

If you can get them in the UK, try Shamir's Genesis. Awesome lens and available in polarized.

Thanks for the replies - over here (England) we can't get - through local offices at least - the lenses that have been mentioned.

    That's why I'm so vexed.

    Keep the suggestions coming.

Question to the US Essilor guy. Can I order Panamic polarised direct from Essilor US? How do I open an account and who do I contact?
