    Strange Remedies & Such

The idea behind this thread hit me when I found myself this last weekend, looking for a way to get Ink out of my carpet. I read that Barbasol Shaving cream would do the trick as well as Hair Spray and Vinegar. Unfortunately, Nothing has worked. However, I am happy to report that Barbasol Shaving Cream DOES keep my Mirror in the bathroom from fogging up when I get a shower. (hmmmm...I wonder if that will work on my glasses when I come in from the cold??)

So, what other ideas do you all have for ink and what other strange things have you heard like this?

I use Chem Dry Stain Extinguisher. The only place I have found it is nearby you at Home Depot. It works better than Barbasol (Learned that from the Galloping Gourmet) and hairspray.

The Chem Dry costs about $3.00. It has taken out engine oil(courtesy of my brother in law) on my off white carpet after two shots of it as well as blood.

As you all know I have been advocating Castor Oil for dry eyes for some years. Now I see the optometrist have "discovered" it, added a new ingredient and are running clinical trials with marvelous success. Strange how stuff comes back up ain't it?

Claim on your house insurance is by far the best..
    :bbg:

On the glasses front. We used to cut a potato in half and gently rub over our bike visors to stop fogging.....Dont know what effect it would have on any coating though....

    Disclaimer......
I take no responsibilty for any damage caused by this idea..

I had a pen leak ink in my shirt pocket once and believe my wife used WD 40 to remove or significantly reduce the stain.

This past summer I contracted a fungal infection on my foot and planned on seeing a podiatrist after the summer was over. Assuming he may have to surgically remove the infected area and minimizing my downtime, I procrastinated. In the meantime, I read an article which claimed "DUCT TAPE" to be effective in removing skin warts. Not having anything to loose, I tried it (with some crazy looks from my wife) and admit that it has worked remarkably well.

I think Uncle Red would be very happy knowing how effective his "Handy Mans Secret Weapon" is.

Duct Tape, I hear, is like the FORCE in Star Wars...
It has a light side and a dark side and it holds the world together!

No OJ didn't visit my house. Our kitten was exploring in our closet and some how got a hanger stuck between his toes. From the looks of it and the screeching I thought he was impaled. I picked him up and should have wrapped a towel around him. Well the back claws tore my hand up and hence the blood. Cat not harmed.
