Wrong. Strabismus does not equal a blind eye. I am intermittently strabismic and would not appreciate having a balance lens. My mother is a constant strab and ans most certainly wouldn't like to...
Absolutely correct, however lawyer BS is quite often all you need to get what you want. Kind of like those liability waivers you have to sign at a ski resort... On another note maybe I'll stop...
No ones stopping your from hiring a refracting optican to help out, I think would be a tremendous help in a very busy office if the OD wanted to perform at maximum efficiency. Whats stopping you?
...
How so? My comments reflect general sentiment of other OD's and what I observe of patient response, not necessarily how I ultimately prescribe. I've prescribed low add powers, they do help some...
So you're saying you would never refract a person not already examined by a doctor? Thats not exactly what your profession has been pushing for.
Here's an example from the past few days. 21 year old woman presents with blurred vision, new Rx gives 20/20 vision in both eyes. Examination reveals intracranial hypertension AND retinal...
Because most patients will not notice any difference until they "need" more than a dioter. That any most are reluctant to have the dreaded "bifocals."
this approach is not ideal for most younger patients with "eye strain." The most common problem among young patients is convergence (convergence insufficiency, basic exophoria, divergence excess),...
Can't see how any would be, or at least publicly admit to it, since its not legal.

GROSS
What that guy said  You can only rely on higher index = thinner if you're talking equal CT, and often more important, a lower index might be alot lighter in weight. I thought trivex was...
Wrong wrong wrong, AR doesn't do anything for light FROM the computer. It is advantageous when you have other light sources around, but it doesn't do anything for "glare," or eye strain or light...
not true, many ophthalmologists in Canada dispense.
Dr. Chrono EMR is a native ipad app... but its more of an all purpose general medicine app, no optical/dispensing function.
[QUOTE=NorthStar;393906]as a result, the Company has been using this time as an opportunity to look
at other ways to grow the Company.
Our first step in a new direction will involve the Company in...
Bad idea; with the financial position of most states who knows when they either drastically cut benefits or eliminate them entirely. Look at what California did - totally cut benefits for eye exams....
Disagree, charge what the market will bear, I frankly don't see the point in charging/offering Rx verification upfront, but PD.... if you've chosen to do this, get what you can for it, I've charged...
This is like the Irlens thing...
So academic dishonesty is the solution, nice.
i know I'm probably wasting my time with this... but, I have a patient, high myope, needs RGP's to achieve decent vision. Problem is that she recently relocated to Ontario from Alberta, lives in a...
The patient has to wear those very large sunglasses that wrap all around to prevent any UV exposure prior to the "locking in." After its locked it, then you can go outside without your sunglasses.
Not quite, physicians/internists/GP's are Dr., Surgeons are Mr/Mrs, etc.
Poly!? Are you crazy, use anything but poly, trivex would be my choice, but CR-39 is still a good option, better optics, and its still going to be lighter than glass.
There's a lot more to consider than just Dk/t, thats why I'm not at all surprised to hear that his experience mirrors my own. Silicon hydrogel is not the panacea everyone thought it would be.
