Hmm. If you are a doctor's office, why not just do the measurement on everyone, and add the fee on the exam charges as a usual and customary fee. If you are an independent optician, how about...

Thank you for your replies. We have not heard of MVE, but will check it out for sure.
Anyone have any feedback, comments, or suggestions regarding EMR's in a new OD's office? Maxim Eyes SQL and Revolution are the two primary software programs we are looking into. Thanks!
Yes, groove painting looks awesome! We use primarily trivex and 1.6 for rimless jobs, so no problems or issues with the paint.
My VEW was one of the best ever! The vendors I spoke with were great and offered a lot of valuable information. Very productive. Can't wait for next year's!
Love Vegas!
I agree. I use Trivex whenever possible and 1.6 alot! I don't like to use 1.67 when I could use 1.6 even for a non-drill job. But sometimes feel forced to if I choose to use Varilux product -...
My Apologies -
I came by a few minutes late from a meeting in the suites - did not seeing anyone socializing around and left. I should have at least asked - I thought I had missed it.

IF you want to venture into the medical / optical - then do it! I started as an optician, then became a COT. Since then, I have had to opportunity to start my own business as an independent optician...
Karlen -
Friday 3:00 sounds great! Let us know the final time you schedule.
Chris -
I go as a buyer/attendee - my biggest buying splurges of the year are always at Expo!
Thanks for the quick replies -
I need to be more specific. The model number NRC 125, is that a model that anyone here on the board may have in their inventory for a client to buy? (Or I can...
Is anyone familiar with Robert Marc frames? Looking for (I think) NRC 125-48. Does anyone have one or information regarding one? Looking for the green color.
Thanks -

Scratches too easily. I have had great success with 1.6 in drill mounts. Rarely use poly, except in polarized sunglasses - use those a lot!
I have had exceptionally good response from Varilux Panamic. They are also available in Polarized Gray & Polarized Brown. I would use the 1.6 Hi-Index Material for your clear pair and polycarbonate...
If anyone has a Hugo Boss 1577 DB 53-17 and/or a Silhouette M1930 /10 6051 49-15 available, I have a client wanting to purchase multiple pairs of each style - if any are to be found. Hopefully before...
I have t2 as well. Doing well with the line, have had zero issues with the craftsmanship, durability, and service. Love it!
Reps are an invaluable tool! I didn't vote on the poll, because, some reps I only want to see as often as 6-8 weeks, others just once or twice a year. As long as the rep is available when I need...
Given the popularity of small frames now, I chose the 1.6 aspheric. However, the frame size and the pd would have to be taken into account. I would do a lens thickness calc. to determine if it would...
Ditto! You are a great speaker and your lectures are informative. I have been able to apply your wisdom to everyday work with pleasure and great results!
Happy Speaking!

I've had success with both the Ergo Readers from Eye-Magine and Scojo Gel sun readers. Never have had problems with frame adjustments, they are stylish - plus they hold up much better than ordinary...
Polo 79 c.023 51-19. This zyl frame was D/C in 1997 and obviously, no parts are available. We need a Right Temple, but am willing to buy the whole frame if anyone has one. I've ordered a Polo 72...
Lighthouse is great for getting low vision aids (and not necessarily just optical). Lighting, 20/20 pens, NoIR glare control glasses, (NoIR has special lens colors for different types of visual...
Charge for adjustments. Warn client of possibility of breakage due to frame being bent or smashed - or whatever. If client chooses to proceed either charge for adjustment or in the unlikely event it...
Optician - no doubt! I love being an optician. Opticians make a dispensary as OD's spend more time in the exam room and less time as "hands on" in the dispensary.
I love the fashion aspect of...
I agree with Texas Ranger on this one. I wouldn't waste my money on phone books ads, instead I would concentrate on my current clients and local advertising.
The phonebook is very costly and...
The effectiveness of the newspaper will be directly proportionate to what you put into it. Be consistent and repetitive. Just placing an ad here and there without rhyme or reason will be completely...
