it really depends on the frame design. you mentioned the material being plastic; i don't know if you mean the lens or the frame. if the frame is plastic you can put it in a frame warmer to soften it...

well, one down side that comes to mind off the top of my head is that it makes the eye-wires different sizes, so if they ever get new lenses in them it could cause a head ache for the lab doing it....
