Hey Daniel,
These are Essilor "Xion" (same as Ideal in N. America) but I think they use a different type of engraver that creates dots not lines. They are also marketed under the name "Pinnacle"...
There is a new Varilux 360 that can be ordered to specific pantoscopic tilt and facial wrap. Essilor have released a new magic tilt/bvd/wrap calculating device!
We have so many frames nowadays that...
Hey Tony and IC-UC,
http://www.osalens.com.au/
Seems to be a blended round seg embedded into a progressive lens!
According to the wesbite, a lab in California named "Bad *** Optical" can supply you with it! :p
Hey iiiiis,
How have you guys fared with the Nikon Seewides?
Stop reviving old threads you guys! I'd actually forgotten completely about this patient as she never returned for me to try out the iseikonic SV option.... Thanks for the ideas :)
Some of these frames have the "rivets" stuck on to the front for show. Be careful of the cheaper ones!
Has anyone tried maybe a gold mirror on these lenses? It would make them look less greeny in the deactivated state but would a mirror affect the photochromic properties at all?
Chris, do you have a distributor in Australia yet? I'd love to try some out.

Sorry guys for not posting an update after the specs were collected! Yes it's well and truly finished after 6 months but after using a fresnel stick-on on one lens (after consulting her doc), we have...
Hi Craig,
How accurate are MJ's surfacing and can you order to say 0.12D? For example, if your compensated Rx was say -3.12 -0.62 x 180 how close would the final lens power be to what you have...
Genz, you might have confused thickness calipers with a geneva or lens "clock" that determines the curvature of the lens. You can then work out the index of the material once you have also...
Thanks guys, I might try the fresnel first on some finished lenses to see if the patient can tolerate the prism before we make up these whoppers.
Because the right lens is plus (through one meridian) and the left is minus, can increasing the VD on one lens and decreasing on the other still work? I think this creates a higher % of magnification...
I have a another doozy here for you guys if you would be kind enough to chip in some ideas.
Rx is:
R +0.75 +2.00 x 115
L -0.50 -2.50 x 80 (yes + / - is correct!)
Prism: 22 Base in split...
Hey guys,
Haven't posted here in a while but I've been lurking often! I normally find an answer to any problem I have just with the use of the search function ;)
We have a client with this rx:...
Hey Dragon,
I'm dying to know what you made for this client! :nerd:
How exactly can you align them without looking at the image?
This guy has a frame that pushes into his cheeks and segments so low he would have to put his newspaper on his chest to read it. Great nose pad adjustment too.

I might have to talk to the boss on Monday about it. I suppose it needs to be changed back to passive mode for that job only and all data entered into the edger itself (pd,height etc) or just...
mshimp, how do you get around the oblique cyl problem?
My boss is thinking of returning back to a manual blocker as this thing is costing us too much in remakes. My latest one was caused by a...
On SV with higher Rx (mostly high index stock), I was getting uneven OC heights. I started dotting them up and blocking manually which fixed the problem.
Hey Aussie,
I've noticed problems with bifocals and progressives that higher powers (and even low cyls) are coming out with a consistent 1/2 mm difference
in height. 1/2 a mm is not too much...
Hey guys (thanks for the awesome wrap calcs),
Why do I get different results from your guys' calculators?
Which witch is which?
