I agree that the photochromics are not all their cracked up to be, but people still use them and spend money for them. The XTRA actives are better. But still not quite there.....
Hello. My lab is asking all employees to submit a new name for a photochromic lens we are now using. Whoever wins will receive an Apple iPad Air 2.... I so want a new iPad......I could use some help...
It is a nice position... I work for an eyeglass lab (contractor) at a VA but for a different company. :)
Now I've not heard this before.
You can run an Optical shop without a doctor. Contract with a very reputable lab, and supply lab. sell yourself and your shop to surrounding doctors. Even though the doctors usually sell their own...
This dr. is really the first one who is more hands on then any of the others. He HAS started to come see me alittle more often as of late because he realizes that that roles we play within our...
I do want to make mention that its not an ' I ' issue here. I 'AM the only optician, the others are opthomology techs and they have their own duties. I have a good relationship with these folks and...
Wow ! I appreciate all the great answers and advice. I've thought about talking to the dr' in question, but he's very unnaproachable, really he is. He has been this way since day one. I work in a...

I need ideas for a new look in my optical shop. It is very small. And I have to keep costs pretty low. Right now I kinda do the Veteran look as I work in a VA hospital.
I need a new , somewhat...
I agree with you Stan... I adjust glasses all day and the ( veteran) customer always watches me. I get alot of comments on , wow, how can you see that little screw, or how can you get it just right...
Haha. Concerning hazing .... Who would ask that kind of question? Well, hmmmm...... that the best you can do. :))
I usually ask pts if they're interested only if they are going to be getting progress. or sv with either poly, H.I. or trivex . It's so limited at present. I know more folks would buy it if not for...
travelingoptician,
I personally would love it. I run a small optical shop by myself and I have one fill in and there are times when I could really use an extra. My lab has told me to find someone,...
Hey Johns, I've never been hazed either. How bout it, how bad can you haze me? :)

Hi eyeguy21,

Hello, I'm new on here and have been browsing through this thread and it amuses me, not because its funny, because really its not, but because the arrogance in Opticans is very prevelant. :) I get...
Hello. I also sell the XTRA active transis. The customers really like them and many ask for them , besides the dr.'s I work with are prescribing them more and more. We mostly use Image. Sure wish it...
