What is the formula for bast curve selection?
Is Vogel's Law the most used or only one? What is it again?

Plus Lens: fbc = (spherical eq.) + 6.00
Minus Lens: fbc = (spherical eq./2) + 6.00
How ever I do recommend using the manufactures base curve chart, but in the absence of a chart use the formula. If you are using an aspheric design do not use Vogel's Rule, use the manufactures recommendation.
Using "best form" lenses helps reduce oblique astigamatism and curvature of field. When you look away from the lens center you will experience a change in the power of the lens causing the abberations listed above. Manufacturers place certain Rx's on a base curve the will help reduce these abberations.Quote:
