  1. I am not trying to be prejudiced , I have owned a few of them , but never owned a good one. If you are honest with yourself , I'll bet your repair history has been no different than mine was . I'd also bet you figure the one you own was just built on a bad day and was poor luck. You'd be wrong about that. I'll bet too that you are already talking yerself into buying another VW , figgering the next one will be better.

The tranny's are bad in all of em. The harsh downshifts bangs the crap outta the innards which is why they self destruct early.

You can implant that VW logo on my butt then it will match the VW logo that drained my bank account in repairs . From one European German to another , you know I am right if you have owned yours for 2 or more years.
  2. Nothing personal whoeveh you are muucow, but beetles are little bugs that oughta been squished as they came outta the defective factoruies that bilt em . Ma personal opinion from owning a few of them defective transmissin cars. Do they stil shift harshly and bang between gears especially when they downshift to a stop ? I admit they are fun to drive ,and they make great advertising vehicles ( which is why I owned some of them ) but nevertheless they are defective and very exppensive to fix . Not to mention that the transmissins are really never fixed . Most people wind up taking them back to the tranny shops several times for the same problems . Funny thing is the computers and check engine warning lights kepp coming on and off too , yet people that buy those cars are usually die hards themselves and are usually of European German descent.
