Hey Al just wanted to drop by and tell you that I met your wife at a Vision Source meeting tonight. She was very bright and insightful. Kudos to you.

Hey what's up? It was to meet you too. This past monday I was in your old stomping grounds. I went to RVCC to help my apprentices practice on the edgers there for the state board exam. You're right about the iTerminal, the ridiculous thing is that doctors are actually investing in that stuff. Just yesterday we had a presentation with someone from Ophthonix, they have an instrument that measures high-order aberrations in the eye (an aberrometer). They claim that they can correct these with spectacle lenses. :)
We were all over that one. The lady wanted to crawl under a rock after we were done with her. She couldn't answer any of the more difficult questions. From what I hear the lenses are ok, they are called iZon lenses.

I studied with Thich Nhat Hanh from 1988 through 1996. I was ordained by him personally, both as a layperson and as an Order member. As the community grew, it got more difficult to spend any small-group time with him. He has a wonderful presence, he's very creative, and he does a great job translating the practices for Western audiences. Don't be fooled: his practices are very simple, but "simple" does not always mean "easy." What he really wants is for each of us to pay meticulous attention to what is happening in the present moment, at every moment. That's truly a challenging practice!

Thanks for your invitation, and also for reading the book and enjoying it. I'm glad to know there's at least one other mindfulness practitioner on this board! Let me know if you have any questions. And thanks for your great articles in ECP!
  10. My pic in the last two mags are horrible. I gave Jeff a new pic which I think is better.
