Hi IC! This is not so surprising to me...methanol based lacquers do the rinsing job when the process is not ok...there is much to say about it! I will explain you orally, as it would be too long in written form. In any case, when it comes to our lacquers that are methanol free, you may really use them for 6 to 8 MONTHS!!! I even have a customer in Germany who used the high index one for 60 (SIXTY) weeks. If you want to clean your lenses with other solutions (remove fingerprints and marking inks), you may use a combination of sodium hydroxide, sodium gluconate, and butyl glycol. My SkyPe address is francois_breton.

Hello...I just read that you have an SCL machine. I know all the problems associated with it and the dangers of methanol usage. I would be happy to discuss with you about safe processes for lenses and people in your lab.

It’s so simple to be wise. Just think of something stupid to say and then don’t say it.
