The second thing is the light "halo" that shows around the front of the bevel. A few years ago I bought Stormin' Norman's edge color pens for polarized lenses, and found that they were a lot harder to use than when Norman demonstrated them. But why do manufacturers make polarized lenses that aren't consistent in color from front to back?

I just got a letter from Silhouette talking about a Partnership program. Anybody have any real details.

A few lines really in the letter make look like they are about to try and Screw me over royally, but I'm not positive.

I've been selling Silhouette for 7 years. I'm a small shop and only carry one collection of theirs. The 7799 collection and before that we carried the 7395 collection. We keep a full display of the 7799 collection and sell between 40-50 complete chassis a year.( This doesn't include parts) I don't carry more of their products because I don't have a need for alot of high dollar product around. Silhouette makes up most of my upper end sales along with a few other brands.

Below are some lines verbatum from the letter.

"For the benefit of our partners business development, it is our intention to focus distribution of Silhouette brand soley within the parameters of our partnership program."

"In order to implement this selective distribution strategy, we must begin to redefine our business relationship with those who elect not to participate in our " Seeing without Boundaries" partnership program."

I've heard alot of different wispers in the last year about Silhouette making some financial mistakes and to keep an eye out for the downward spiral they may be headed in.

Wonder if this has anything to do with it??

I have a patient that came in last night who has recently had a laser iridectomy OU. His PD before the surgery (2007) was 30.5/29.5 as measured by me and the technician. His PD last night was 32.0/32.0 measured by our other optician and the technician.

Can this procedure affect the corneal reflex we use for our PD measurement? This seems like a big jump on a 48 year old man.

Next question, should we fit his new PALs to the PD he is used to or to the new PD measurement.

New Rx OD -.75 -.75 X145
OS -.50 -.75 X045

Old Rx OD -1.25 -.25 X097
OS -1.00 -.50 X085
+1.75

I can't figure this one out.

Is there like a review / preparation class I can take or a web site I can go to that will tell me what to expect from the test in Albany, NY? I went to school with the progression career program home course but they don't tell you anything about the practical licensure exam. They basically prepare you for the ABO which I just took last week, still waiting for the results...
I will appreciatte any help.
I am looking for someone who can design for me some simple lens elements for use in the consumer electronic market. Basically someone who can design the lens elements that i need in Zemax or whatever software you professionals use and be able to analyse the data to eliminate most common optical defects.
I am are just after optical and mechanical manufacturing drawings and have a good idea of what i need and how i want it done.

Its a fairly simple lens consisting of only 4 elements to achieve a desired objective.

If someone is able to help in this task please send me a private message through this forum so we can talk further. It doesnt matter where you are in the world as long as you can communicate in english and can do the job.
Of course i am willing to pay for this service and will most likely have other small optical design work for you in the future.

If you think you can help please contact me

thanks

It seems only since around October 1, 2009 that we've been having problems.
The reason given is that they need a "more specific diagnosis" and something that specificies that this is for "glasses following cataract surgery".
Anyone else having problems out there with this type of thing?
