My Time at Polycore II

...So I left off with my time in Nebraska with Lind. This was great! I loved Nebraska!! Linda knew her way around from her time with Signet. I had mentioned after my time in Reno that I really did not know what I was doing! I was just a simple lab guy. They decided that since Linda was a regional rep with Signet that she could show me some of the ropes. That week was one of the most educational that I could remember!
She introduced me to several of the labs nearby. I'll never forget my vist to one of our first labs. Linda introduced me to one of the head guys there. We were in a meeting with our wholesale rep. By this time I had realized that the combo of flying and being away from home was getting pretty stressful and as a result my stomach was acting up. I was taking prescription medication to calm it down. The down side was that it made me feel a little out of it. So I tried to make it a point to take it with coffee in the morning to keep me "with it".
So this morning I had taken the medicine with the impression that we were going to head out for breakfast then to the lab. Well it had been decided we were to hit the lab first! NO COFFEE!!!So I was pretty out of it!! We headed into the office. Our rep did his song and dance, Linda introduced me and the lab big wig caught me off guard. All I could think about was getting some damn coffee to get more "with it" when he asked me "so what will you say is Polycore's big selling point?" I drew a blank and came up with a clever "uh, huh?" when Linda jumped in and saved my butt by explaining quality was to be the big selling point. I felt like such a turd!
Watching Linda with these optical places was like watching some sort of ninja! She would pop in talk about Polycore's lenses, drop off material before people knew what hit them. Now as a person who has had to deal with lens and lab reps for years this was the way to do it! Give me some info to chew on and leave before I get irritated. After a few weeks she would return and pop in again. I liked reps that kept in touch without being annoying. I could see why so many labs and opticals liked her.
Stay tune for : MY TIME AT POLYCORE III
