OPTIDONN

My time at Polycore.

Rate this Entry
So several months ago I made a big announcement that I was to begin my new job at Polycore Optical USA. I changed my signature and everthing! I was so proud of my "big boy" job!! Some have sent me emails asking what happened. So I figure now that we have this blog feature I would spill my guts.

Here's what I have to say about my experience with a lens manufacturer (pardon my spelling!:p) The company was GREAT!!!! Flat out was one of the best experiences I have had!! When I first went to Reno to meet with the other Practice Developement Specialists (our very own Judy Canty and another brilliant lady named Linda Benker) I was thrilled!! Although I was a little nervous. It was really the first time away from my wife and two little girls...that just killed me! But I decided that this was for the greater good.

I don't know how it is at other companies but I assumed that when I went to Reno I would enter this huge building with a countless number of employees. Boy was I wrong! There wer pobably 20 employees includng the factory tech who made the Poly. fin, S.V. lenses and the people who packaged them. It was a small amount of dedicated people making this place run.

The people who made this place run just kept a damn smile on my face the whole time. Chris Jangus (president) is just the most lovable damn guy! So down to earth! When I interviewed I had no idea who he was until he left and slid me his business card! I thought he was just some guy hagning around the office!

Greg Rook, the man in charge of marketing. What can I say! He had a laugh that just seemed so natural! He was ALWAYS smiling and had some crazy story!! He's the kind of guy that just screams "HUG ME!!" (By the way if any of you happen to see him there is a bounty! If you can supply proof of a hug you'll recieve $20 from me!).

Ann Shanley...you know I can't really remember what it was he did but she was a hard-working-sweet-as-hell boss you could ever imagine having! I still email her from time to time. I do think she was one of my favorites, because I could best relate to her.

So anybody here want to know some of the knitty gritty about our very own Judy Cany?

When Judy comes to mind the two things that pop into my head are Glenlivet Scotch and sewing! If you have met her you know what I mean!;) Not to mention what a BIG HEART this woman has!!! You almost want to tell her everything, she has that aura about her.

Now lets not forget about the other Practice Development Specialst, Linda Benker. She was a whole lot of fun! We worked together in Omaha Nebraska. To read more check into:
