Just a question. In the last 2 weeks I have re-done patients lenses due to the fact they didnt like the slight hue left on the lenses. I was told by my lab there is no warranty on transtions lenses against disastifaction. I just wanted to know has anyone else experienced this problem before? If so what is the solution?

Hello Kerbear 888,
I have to ask because there have been cases of product switching.
Are you positive that you are dispensing Transitions?
regards,
Jim

You would have to check this out with Essilor, but they are offering something this summer.

Usually a good lab will stand behind the product even if they can't get credit from the manufacturer. At the very least, they should be willing to make clear lenses at no cost to you. Unless, of course, this is a problem patient with multiple remakes already. Some people just CAN'T be satisfied :)

we have fit a lot of the TNG lenses since Jan '02, when they released them; I have told clients that I would replace them with clear lenses if they were dissatisfied; can't think of any that we replaced for that reason..

Yeah, sell them a pair of polarized lenses like you should have to begin with at a discount.

Hi Chip,
You are on the right track.
We are finding that combining Transitions with a polarized sunlens is the best combination of 2 pair sales. Patients have the best of both worlds, the convenience of one pair that covers their day to day activities and the other for driving and recreation.
best regards,
Jim

Chip,

The patient's complaints weren't about the sun preformance but indoor clarity, or are you sugesting not using transitions at all, just clear and sun?

Are you talking about how fast they change back to being clear after being outside or after being indoors for awhile?

Transitions Next Generation look clear when they are indoors.

Perhaps it is the index that was used?
