Here is the scoop on getting started with the Transitions®Lens Healthy Change Sweepstakes.... [snip]
regards to all,
Jim
As a consumer I have to vent. A friend told me about this sweepstakes, so, needing new glasses anyway I decided to check it out. My friend thought I had to go to Sears Optical, so I found the nearest Sears Optical I could find, 100 miles away at the Fayetteville, Ark. mall.
I called before I left to make sure they were partipating in the sweepstakes and that they had game pieces/official entry forms. The guy I spoke to said he did so I drove 100 miles to get there. I asked what time he closed because I said I would like to come pick one up.
When I got there and said I was interested in a game piece/official entry form for the "Transitions®Lens Healthy Change Sweepstakes", the guy told me it was only for people who complete a purchase of eyeglasses. I asked him if you _had_ to buy something to enter and he said, "Yes, after you buy eyeglasses they give a form that we give to you."
I asked him if he any copy of the offical rules I could look at because I understood that no purchase was necessary, but that I only heard about this promotion from a friend so I wasn't sure. He laughed at me and said "We aren't going to give those forms out to just anybody!".
At that point I wasn't interested in purchasing any eyeglasses from this fellow so I turned around and drove 100 miles back home.

P.S. After just getting back I looked online some more and found the Transitions customer information number. Unfortunately I could find no official rules for the sweepstakes on the http://www.transitions.com website. I called to find out if the guy was correct, that you had to buy eyeglasses to enter the sweepstakes. The woman was very nice and very helpful, although I was offended she told me twice I was crazy for driving so far. An apology would have been nice.
Now that I understand there is a participating dealer in the town I work and that I don't have to purchase anything, I'm still thinking about getting an entry form. Not sure though because I'm kinda burnt out on this promotion. Will probably purchase from Lenscrafter's again.
