ESSILOR INTRODUCES NEW, POLYCARBONATE PHOTOCHROMIC LENS
Adaptar&reg Transitions&reg in Airwear&reg Available to ECPs October 1

DALLAS - (October 1, 2002) – In response to the growing demand for polycarbonate, photochromic lenses, Essilor of America, Inc. is introducing Adaptar&reg Transitions&reg Gray in Airwear&reg. The progressive lenses, available to eye care practitioners October 1, feature five graduated designs customized for each stage of presbyopia. Offered in Essilor’s premium polycarbonate Airwear&reg, the lenses are 43% lighter and 35% thinner than standard plastic.

“According to the Vision Council of America, the PAL polycarbonate photochromic market has grown 66% this year,” said John Carrier, senior vice president of marketing for Essilor of America. “We’ve combined our multi-design progressive Adaptar&reg with our exclusive scratch-resistant polycarbonate Airwear&reg.
