Nanofilm adds international sales staff, expands presence in Europe
Cleveland, Ohio, September 23, 2002 - Nanofilm, maker of premium lens coatings and lens care products, is continuing to expand its presence in the European market with the addition of Menno F. Buys as Managing Director, Europe. Mr. Buys will be responsible for marketing the complete Nanofilm line to the optical industry. The coatings products include PermaSEAL®, the ultra-durable hydrophobic top-coating to protect lenses with an anti-reflective coating. The lens care line includes sprays and towelettes sold under the Ultra Clarity® brand and Clarity Crafted™ private label program.

Mr. Buys’ career spans 20 years in international business with a specialty in representing American companies in European and other international markets. “There are companies in Europe that have never been exposed to products of the quality of Nanofilm,” says Mr. Buys. “The biopure lens care products consistently receive the highest ratings for effectiveness and safety. The PermaSEAL lens coating formula is a significant improvement over many available in Europe.” The European headquarters will be in The Netherlands, with an initial focus on lensmakers, optical coating laboratories and optical professionals.
Mr. Buys’ has held senior international management positions with American organizations including The West Bend Company, Universal Electronics and Xtrasource, as well as European manufacturers such as Celette, a French company.
