ESSILOR LABORATORIES OF AMERICA ACQUIRES ASSETS OF THREE CSC GROUP LABS
Essilor Purchases Vista Phoenix, Vista Tucson and CSC Colorado
DALLAS - (September 5, 2002) – Essilor Laboratories of America announced today the purchase of assets of three laboratories from CSC Laboratories, Inc. and Optics East, Inc. (CSC GROUP). The laboratories are located in Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona and Denver, Colorado, adding to Essilor’s laboratory presence in those states. The acquisition will generate roughly an additional $7 million in annual sales for Essilor and the three locations employ about 65 people.
“CSC has been a Varilux® and Crizal® Distributor for years and we are happy that this transaction is a win-win for both companies,” said Chris Paddison, president of Essilor Laboratories of America. “This transaction enables Essilor to offer its state of the art technology and world-renowned products and services to an extended customer base.”
“We value our ties with Essilor,” said Dong K. Kim, group president, CEO and founder of CSC GROUP. “This is a welcome transaction from both perspectives.” All other CSC locations remain in operation as part of the CSC GROUP and will continue to be Authorized Varilux® and Crizal® Distributors.
