Actually that one was a fluke. It used a combination of 'quote' and 'quote2'. Quote2 is added manually and not part of the automated quote reply.

Now what would be real nice would be if it could alternate color like the threads...
ie. i use cool blue so one is white the next blue, so on the white you would have blue and on the blue you would have white.

Yeah I tried to do that but it would require hacking to code rather extensively. This was the best I could do.

Steve,
Glad to see it was a "fluke". To many tables would have made it to confusing and crowded.I really like the color background idea.

Steve,
I just noticed that when i post a message with a quote it appears like the one above. I dont have any table what's going on?:hammer:

I'll bet I made a mistake in the template for the style set you're using. It's leaving off the initial '['. I'll take a look and fix it.

Steve Machol
03-07-2002, 08:39 PM
That was it. I left off the [ in the Pete's Bumblebee style. It should work know.

That'll teach you for using such a strange style set! ;)

John R

How about having a black background with white lettering then...for the quotes

Steve,
I actually started using it a little while back.Found it to be alot easier on the eyes. And for me it makes a better background for the tables.Strange style set maybe.....but i like it.
Thanks for your quick help :)

Well the new quote is broken after the upgrade last night. I've reverted to the old way and will have to work on this again later.

I'll find a fix somehow. Till then we'll live with the old quote format.

Which do you prefer:

1. No space between the 'Steve said' and quote (as in ioconnell's post)

2. The space (as in Sean's post)

Sean

My vote would be for having the "space". Making the body of the text away from the person who is quoting look less cluttered.

I agree with Sean. It is easier to distinguish what is being said by the person

I don't know. Let me check into it.

Steve Machol
03-10-2002, 09:23 AM
Sean, try again. I ran into the same problem trying to update mine. However I kept forgetting to click on the 'Use custom avatar' radio button. Make sure that option is chosen.

Sean
03-10-2002, 09:32 AM
Steve,
Seem's to be working now. I was using the radio button but it would still not upload before.I also noticed that the field where you put the avatars path had a black background and was only about 10 characters in length. Now it has a white background and there is plenty of room for the path.
