From VMail, the twice-weekly e-mail from VisionMonday for January 21, 2002
http://www.visionmonday.comTransitions Optical will visit 10 North American cities to introduce and educate ECPs on its Next Generations photochromic-lens technology, in a "Smart Moves" tour that kicks off February 5 in San Francisco and wraps up March 14 in New York at International Vision Expo East. Transitions launches its consumer ad campaign for the lenses in mid-April. Does anyone know where to find information about locations and dates for the road show for folks who won't be able to attend VE East?

Will Transitions be using TV spots and print media again to promote the product? Either source helps us out a bunch; many folks came in asking if we carry the product the last time Transitions rolled out a media campaign.

Hello Jo,
The Ten City Tour information will be released soon. I will have a Transitions Optical Marketing post an announcement.

We held our 6th annual Transitions Academy at Disney Worlds Coronado Springs Business Resort last week. Almost 700 people from all over this hemisphere participated. This was our best Academy to date.

Soderberg won our 2001 Lab of the Year Award and all attendees celebrated with them at MGM with a street party that went on late into the night.

regards,
Jim

What is "Transitions Academy?" We ran across it once before a year or two ago while looking through the Transitions website but no one at the time knew about it.

Hello Jo
Transitions Academy is a training school for Labs and Lens Manufacturers. It has grown fron from 80 participants to around 700 people in six years. This is for North and South America.

To stay fresh, the curriculum changes yearly. This year's classes were on Effective Communication Tools, Key Account Management, Selling Value in a Tough Economy, Merchandising, Stress Dynamics, Customer Loyalty taught by the Disney Institute and Transitions Next Generation: A Journey of Change. All classes were done in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Latin Americans were also treated to a presentation by Dr. De Posada.

From the Academy the 10 City Transitions Smart Moves Tour is launched. These events are for the ECPS. Each event is sponsored by Transtions Optical, our Lens Manufacturing Partners

To participate in these events contact your labs, Transitions Solutions Team reps or Transitions Customer Service at 800.848.1506.

February 5 San Francisco, February 7 Vancouver BC, February 12 Los Angeles, February 19 Houston, February 22 Atlanta in conjunction with SECO, February 26 Detroit, February 28 Minneapolis, March 5 Kansas City, March 7 Toronto , March 14 New York in conjunction with VEE.

Keep checking the Transitions website for updates.

I hope this helps,
Jim

I just wanted to let everyone know that Al started a thread on this subject in the General Discussion Forum. It looks like this product is getting excellent reviews:

Steve,

Do you think that maybe they didn't invite you because you live way over in Arizona? ;)

OptiBoarders,
If you are coming in for VEE or the many organization meetings and will be in town Thursday the 14th, call our Customer Service (800.848.1506) and make a reservation. The Tour has been doing very well. It is both educational and fun.
regards,
Jim
