Scheduled Outages - Jan. 18th and 19th

The company that hosts the OptiBoard server is changing the physical location of this server this weekend. Due to this move, OptiBoard will have two scheduled outages, a brief one today and a longer one tomorrow. Here's the schedule:

Friday, Jan. 18, 9:00PM EST: 15-30 minute outage
Saturday, Jan. 19, approximately 6:00PM EST: 5-10 hour outage

I know this will be a rough experience for the OptiBoardaholics among us, but if we all just stay calm and focused we can get through this together! ;)

An hour and twenty minutes until the first scheduled outage? I am going to have to read quicker; there are two pages of new posts since 9:00 AM this morning! :eek:

Well there was a little surprise in that tonight's outage started one hour earlier than I thought it would and lasted a little over an hour. Nonetheless everything's working fine right now.

I've made backups of all OptiBoard related files and downloaded them to my local computer. Although tomorrow's server move should not cause any problems, I've got backups of everything just in case.

[By the way, I make two automated backups of all the OptiBoard posts, forums, and member info everyday. I also have an another automated backup which runs once per week. In addition, I pay extra to have my web host make a backup of the entire server every day. I like being careful! :D ]

Well it's 3:00am and the OptiBoard server is back online after 11 excruciating hours. I need to check and make sure everything is fine, and once I'm satisfied that things are working the way they should I'm going to bed! :D
