How User Friendly Is The New OptiBoard?

This version of OptiBoard has been up and running since late spring. What do both new and old members think of the new version.

The new version is quite good. But I think you had to be around on the old, to really appreciate the 'new'.

I only have 1 comment - the login should be at the top of the page rather than the bottom. I don't keep cookies on my business machine (laptop) so I have to scroll to the bottom to log in.:)

Decided to add to the above -

I've noticed that if someone just "Views" a thread, it then shows up as a new posting. Is there some way to eliminate that? I end up going to threads that have not actually changed. Perhaps it's just a sign of my age.

I wish the icons could be a bit larger too. My old eyes (combined with the size of my laptop screen) don't allow much detail - hard time figuring out some of them ---- expect Pete's. And I'm not sure I want to see his with more detail.

The only time something like this happens is when there's a Poll and a new vote is cast. Because of the new vote it moves to the top of the list, even though there's no new post.

Is it better now that I've put the login at the top? I'm not really happy with how it looks but let me know what you think.

Since this is the only version of the OB that i have ever used i dont have anything to compare it to. No complaint's here. Ooops! i take that back.......I do find myself on the lookout for the new features Steve keep's adding. :D

You're right Steve, kinda looks out of place over there. Maybe the right top would fit better - if not just put it back at the bottom. I'll live with it ok.

The problem is that I don't have much control over how it's placed unless I'm willing and able to do a lot of HTML work. I'll keep looking out for a better way.

I don't know how I missed this poll-I must have been sleeping again (never would have happened in the old (slow) shop)-I would love to get this poll out to the general membership, or at least give the others the opportunity to come here to vote on this.Although statistically the result would be about the same I think.
It would be fun to get more folks involved in the dialog here.

Of course from the look of the poll results, Id'e say this board and the navigation is ranking right up there with the best! ;)
