Hey guys, sorry has been a long time since I have checked on yall. Have a simple question. I was told that there is a web site that has virtual training on refraction. Could anybody help me with this? Also, along those lines, if anybody knows of any other web sites with virtual training on other optical skills, that would be cool to know also. Thanks for your help in advance.

Welcome back!

I'm sure you'll get some good links, but here's one from our very own Darryl Meister:

OptiCampus (http://www.opticampus.com)

...which includes excellent on-line tutorials on "Basic Principles of Light", "Basic Optics of Thin Lenses" and "Simple Ray Tracing of Thin Lenses".

Hello,

I found a site (however the address is in my office computer which is out of my office right now! (carpeting and painting office)

So, I will post it here asap.

It is something like "www.virtual retinoscopy"

"www.virtual phoroptor"

"www.virtual subjective refraction"

If you email me at:

lpierce@hcc.cc.fl.us

I'll forward the link to you.

It uses spot retinoscopy instead of streak, and the rating is in metric (6/6) instead of English Snellen (20/20)... I use it in my refraction courses at our opticianry college program.

Good site. Those of you who haven't been there should go and look around.
