We just posted version 1.17 of Opti Tracker on our website. It's a 30 demo if you don't own the software or a free upgrade if you have already purchased any other version. $199 and it does inventory, patients, orders, cash receipts and deposits. Basic software for basic money. Thanks to all of you who have offered suggestions for improvements and reported bugs. Our next major release will be to include the HCFA 1500 form since that has been the most requested item.

We are now able to connect to the database with a pda browser, iPhone, Treo etc. You can check to see how your shop is doing from across the country.

What is the current price? First post says $199 web site says $499.
Just thought I'd help you clear up confusion.

The 199 was an introductory "early adopter" price. I wanted some feedback as to the needs others might request. We've been using this program for many years in our retail shop and I wanted others to test it to tell me what else they need. You'll save the 499 easily when you know exactly what frames to give the salesman back before they become discontinued and they tell you to make sunglasses out of them.

Version 2.0 is ready for shipping. The improvement is the ability to put in your lens price list and have the orders automatically price the lenses. Email me at Bill@TrackerSystems.com for a demo CD. This is also a free upgrade for current users.

Are there many Canadian opticians that are using this software?
Does it offer marketing?

Thanks for your interest. No, I've not sold any programs into Canada, but there would not be any difference. All the pull down menus such as material, lens type, colors, etc. are user defined. For instance if you don't carry Adaptar, but carry Progressive R, you just edit the pull down to what you want. It's very easy. The same goes for zip/postal codes.
As for marketing, we have a recall feature that allows you to do follow ups on your clients after a few weeks, or whatever time frame you'd like. You can call or mail, or email them a few weeks before their next exam. You can target market preferred customers. If you get a new rimless frame in, you could send a mailing or call your previous customers who have purchased rimless in the past few years. Perhaps you could explain more what type of "marketing" you mean?
Thanks
